APOTHECARE SELECT FAQ

Have questions?

We know specialty medications come with questions. We’re here for you.

Frequently asked questions

How do I fill a specialty medication prescription at Apothecare Select for the first time?

Apothecare Select works directly with your medical provider in filling your specialty medications. In fact, many new prescriptions flow seamlessly from the provider to our pharmacy. However, if we can ever assist in obtaining a new prescription on your behalf, please call (855) 222-1505 and we will reach out to your provider.

How do I refill my specialty medications?

The pharmacy will reach out to you about one week prior to your next refill being due. We will confirm address, discuss any changes in medication and a pharmacist will be available to answer any questions regarding therapy. You may also order refills by calling the pharmacy at (855) 222-1505 or using the Rx365 app.

How do I access medications in case of an emergency or disaster?

If possible, always take enough medication with you for the duration of a scheduled trip. However, sometimes the unexpected occurs. If you find yourself in an emergency or natural disaster and are without your medication, please contact the pharmacy. We will explore options of how to best take care of you, that might include shipping a replacement medication or getting an emergency supply of your medication from an updated, temporary pharmacy.

How do I check on my prescription status?

Please contact the pharmacy toll-free at (855) 222-1505. We will be able to inform you of where your prescription is in the process. Including navigating through insurance, to filling, to providing you with a tracking number of the shipment.

Will you ever substitute my medication with another?

We may utilize a lower-cost generic medication if your provider and state regulations allow. Generic medications must be approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to work the same as their brand counterparts. However, the appearance of generic medications may be different in shape, size or color. If you were not informed of a difference in appearance, please contact the pharmacy at (855) 222-1505.

How do I transfer a prescription to Apothecare Select?

If you would like to transfer your prescription and begin receiving your specialty medication from Apothecare Select, all you need to do is contact us at (855) 222-1505. We will ask a few details to help serve you and then take care of the rest, including contacting your previous pharmacy.

What medications are available through Apothecare Select?

Apothecare Select can fill most specialty medications. If we are unable to fill a medication, we will work with you and your healthcare provider to find a specialty pharmacy that can.

What if my medication is not available to be filled at Apothecare Select?

Apothecare Select fills prescriptions for specialty medications. If Apothecare Select is unable to fill a specialty medication due to purchasing restrictions or insurance eligibility, the pharmacy will attempt to connect you and your provider with a pharmacy that can.

What should I do if my medication has a recall?

Apothecare Select follows the drug recall guidelines established by the FDA, drug manufacturers, drug distributors and/or state and federal regulatory agencies. If you have been affected by a recall that requires action, we will contact you and your provider to inform you of the next steps. If you have questions regarding a recall and have not heard from the pharmacy, please contact us at (855) 222-1505.

How do I dispose of unused specialty medications?

Pharmacy regulations prohibit the resale or reuse of a prescription item that was previously dispensed. Thus, Apothecare Select cannot take back a prescription or issue any credit/refund for any unused or excess product. Please contact the pharmacy at (855) 222-1505 for the best directions to dispose of any unused specialty medications.

What do I do if my specialty medication or supplies are defective?

If your medication or supplies are defective, please contact the pharmacy at (855) 222-1505 and we will help you with a resolution.

How do I report side effects or adverse reactions to my medications?

  • Are experiencing a non-emergent adverse reaction that persists or gets worse
